    For donors

How your donation becomes a funded service

NAME IT Registry doesn't pool your money into a general fund. You pay for one specific thing a family asked for — and you can follow it all the way to the day it gets done.

From your gift to the family's front door

    1. Step 1

      A family builds their registry

A verified beneficiary picks real services from local providers — rides to treatment, house cleaning, meals, pet care — each with a provider's actual price attached.

    2. Step 2

You fund a service, not a bucket

Your gift goes to one named item. Partial gifts are welcome: several donors can chip in until that single service reaches 100% of its cost.

    3. Step 3

      The date gets booked

As soon as an item is fully funded, the family is emailed and can book a date on the provider's calendar. Unused funds roll forward to their next booked date.

    4. Step 4

      The provider carries it out

The provider marks the date completed and uploads a service receipt, so the work is documented for the family and everyone who funded it.

    5. Step 5

      The provider gets paid

Only after a date is completed does the provider request the funds you donated. You can watch each payout land in your donor dashboard.

    6. Step 6

You get proof and a gold star

Download a receipt for every gift, see thank-you notes from the family, and earn a star on your giving calendar for each service that was actually delivered.

The fastest way to help: finish one that's almost there

Some services sit at 80% or 90% funded, waiting on a small gap before the family can book the date. Our Almost there rail lists them cheapest gap first — often $20 or $40 turns a stalled request into a scheduled service, and the whole community sees the “We did it!” celebration.

What a small gift can close

    • $25 — the last stretch of a ride to a treatment appointment
    • $40 — the remainder on a week of pet care
    • $75 — the final gap on a house cleaning before a hospital discharge

    Where the money actually goes

Every dollar you give is tied to a named service from a vetted local provider. Providers are paid only after they confirm the date was carried out, and each completed service produces a receipt that the family and its donors can see.

    • Beneficiaries are verified before their registry goes live, and their address, contact details and medical information are never shown to donors.
    • Daily-life services only — transportation, meals, cleaning, childcare, pet care and the like. We never bill or pay for medical care.
    • You can give as a guest, stay anonymous, and still receive an emailed receipt.

    Follow the results

The Impact page maps the families our community has reached across the country and shows how many registries have been supported. Your donor dashboard goes further: payout history, funded dates and a giving-star calendar of every service you helped deliver.
